Four medicines, one price index

Four GLP-1 medicines are licensed for weight management in the UK. Mounjaro is tirzepatide, a weekly injection pen in six strengths from 2.5 mg to 15 mg. Wegovy is semaglutide as a weekly injection, from 0.25 mg to 7.2 mg. The Wegovy pill is semaglutide as a daily tablet, licensed by the MHRA on 11 June 2026 in four strengths from 1.5 mg to 25 mg. Foundayo is orforglipron, a daily tablet from Eli Lilly licensed on 10 August 2026 in six strengths from 0.8 mg to 17.2 mg.

All four are prescription only. A prescriber at a registered pharmacy has to assess you before any supply, and each product's licence sets a BMI threshold of 30, or 27 with a weight-related condition. This site does not sell, prescribe or dispense any of them and gives no medical advice.

Where the prices come from

Every price on these pages comes from GLP Index, a live index of UK pharmacies on the General Pharmaceutical Council register. The site pulls a fresh export every day. The latest, dated 21 October 2026, covers 80 pharmacies for Mounjaro, 72 for the Wegovy injection, 56 for the Wegovy pill and 32 for Foundayo. Each recorded price is the full amount a patient pays for a four-week supply, with the prescriber consultation and standard delivery inside the figure. The index records a first order price for new customers and an ongoing price for returning customers, because the two often differ.

After the first order, the cheapest ongoing price at the starting dose is £105.00 for Mounjaro, £74.00 for Wegovy, £84.55 for the Wegovy pill and £79.99 for Foundayo. At the top dose of each medicine it is £234.00, £199.88, £102.99 and £139.95. At Mounjaro 15 mg the median ongoing price is £299.99, so the pharmacy you choose changes the monthly bill by £65.99 at the same dose.

What the guides cover

The four price pages show the full table by dose with the cheapest, median and highest figure, and explain what the price includes, how to check the pharmacy on the GPhC register, and the licence and NHS position for each medicine.

The savings guides work out in pounds what you save by moving pharmacy, why a pay-monthly arrangement costs less than a 3, 6 or 12 month plan, and how to budget for the ongoing price once the first order offer has gone. One guide sets out who can get Mounjaro and Wegovy on the NHS in 2026, where a prescription costs £9.90 per item in England and nothing in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. Another compares Mounjaro and Wegovy on cost alone. A consumer protection guide covers fake pens, MHRA warnings and the Yellow Card scheme. A yearly cost calculator totals 12 months at any dose.

The Wegovy pill and Foundayo are not available on the NHS. Private health insurance is unlikely to cover any of the four.

Questions people ask

Which weight loss injections and pills can you buy in the UK?

Four GLP-1 medicines are licensed for weight management in the UK: Mounjaro (tirzepatide injection), Wegovy (semaglutide injection), the Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide, licensed 11 June 2026) and Foundayo (orforglipron tablet, licensed 10 August 2026). All four are prescription only and need a prescriber assessment before supply.

Where do the prices on this site come from?

Every price comes from GLP Index, a live index of UK GPhC registered pharmacies. The prices refresh every day. The latest export, dated 21 October 2026, covers 80 pharmacies for Mounjaro, 72 for Wegovy, 56 for the Wegovy pill and 32 for Foundayo. Each price includes the consultation and standard delivery.

Which GLP-1 medicines are on the NHS?

Mounjaro is on the NHS through a phased GP rollout under NICE TA1026 that began on 23 June 2025, starting with adults with a BMI of 40 or more and four or more named conditions. Wegovy is available only through specialist weight management services under NICE TA875. The Wegovy pill and Foundayo are not available on the NHS.

Is it cheaper to buy a 3 or 6 month plan?

No, in the prices this site has checked. Tie-in plans tend to cost more per month than the cheapest pay-monthly pharmacy, and you can stay with a pay-monthly pharmacy for as long as you like. The Dose Club does not advise 3, 6 or 12 month plans.

Does private health insurance pay for weight loss injections?

Private health insurance is unlikely to cover Mounjaro, Wegovy, the Wegovy pill or Foundayo. Policies generally exclude weight management medicines. Check your own policy wording before counting on it.
