How we check prices and charges

Weight loss medicine prices refresh every day at 13:00 from the GLP Index and show the mg dose, the pharmacy, its GPhC number, the offer link and any code. Other figures are read from a live official or provider page on the date shown. An NHS charge names the nation and links to the NHS or NHSBSA page it came from.

Medicine prices

The four weight loss medicine price pages are built from the GLP Index, a UK price index of registered online pharmacies. The site pulls a fresh export every day at 13:00 UK time and rebuilds every price table, answer box and calculator from it. The current export is dated 21 October 2026 and covers 80 pharmacies for Mounjaro, 72 for Wegovy, 56 for the Wegovy pill and 32 for Foundayo.

For each pharmacy and each mg dose the index records three things: the price a new customer pays on a first order, the price a returning customer pays, and the date the pharmacy's page was last checked. Both prices are the delivered price with the prescriber consultation included.

The tables on this site show, for each dose, the cheapest discount price for a first order, the cheapest ongoing price and the median first order price across every pharmacy listed. Each pharmacy name and price opens that pharmacy's current offer. Where the offer needs a code, the code is printed beside the price. Where the discount applies through the link, the table says so. A second table on each price page ranks the ten lowest first order prices at the starting dose. Every pharmacy is named with its seven-digit GPhC registration number so you can look it up on the General Pharmaceutical Council register before you order.

An ongoing price under half the first order price is treated as a data error and left out. Pharmacies with no live price for a dose are left out of that dose.

What a price does not include

The price is for the pack size shown: four weekly doses for an injection, or 28 days of tablets. It does not include needles or a sharps bin where the pharmacy sells those separately, faster delivery options, or the cost of a private blood test if the prescriber asks for one. The guide on what the price includes lists the extras to ask about.

NHS charges

The prescription charge, prepayment certificate prices, dental bands, optical voucher values and the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme rules come from nhs.uk, the NHS Business Services Authority and gov.uk. Scotland's figures come from NHS inform and gov.scot, Wales from gov.wales and Northern Ireland from nidirect. The source link sits at the foot of every page with the date it was read.

The daily run also re-reads each NHS charge on its official page and stops the update if a figure no longer matches. NHS charges change on 1 April in most years. The 2026/27 prescription charge in England was frozen at £9.90 and the dental bands rose on 1 April 2026. Each figure on the site names the nation it applies to, because the four nations charge differently.

Private prices

Prices for private GP appointments, blood tests, dental treatment, testosterone clinics and erectile dysfunction medicines are read from the provider's own price page on the date shown. The page is linked in the sources. These prices move more often than NHS charges, so check the provider's page before you commit.

Clinical facts

Anything about how a medicine is licensed, who it is for or how it is taken comes from the MHRA, NICE or the medicine's summary of product characteristics. A company selling the product is never the source for a clinical fact.

Corrections

If a figure is wrong, tell us through the contact page with the page address and the source showing the correct figure. The page is corrected and the check date moves to the day of the correction. The editorial policy sets out the full process.

Questions people ask

Why do prices show a first order price and an ongoing price?

Many online pharmacies offer a lower price on the first order and a higher price from the second month. Showing both stops a first-month offer looking like the real cost of a year's treatment.

Does the price include delivery?

Yes. Every weight loss medicine price on the site is the delivered price, including the prescriber consultation. If a pharmacy adds a fee at checkout for something else, the pharmacy's page is the final word.

What does the check date mean on an NHS page?

It is the day the editorial team read the official source and confirmed the figure. When the content of a page changes, the date changes with it. If the date is old, the figure may still be right, but open the source link to be sure.

Why is a pharmacy missing from a table?

Pharmacies appear only when they are on the GPhC register and have a live price for that dose in the index on the export date. A pharmacy with no stock, no price or no registration number is left out.

Do you check private clinic prices the same way?

Private prices for clinics, blood tests and dental work are read from the provider's own published price page on the date shown and the page is linked in the sources. They change often, so treat them as a guide and confirm before you book.
