The current Wegovy pill price range

The Wegovy pill is oral semaglutide, taken once a day. The MHRA licensed it on 11 June 2026 as the first GLP-1 tablet for weight management in the UK. GLP Index recorded prices from 56 UK registered pharmacies on 21 October 2026, and the table above comes from the same export. The four strengths compared as follows.

At the 1.5 mg starting dose the cheapest first order was £53.00 at New Health (GPhC 9011199) with code OGOVY12. The median first order was £93.53 and the highest was £154.00. For a returning customer the cheapest month was £84.55 at Ashcroft Pharmacy (GPhC 9012896) with code BACK5, and the median was £109.99.

At 4 mg the cheapest first order was £72.00, the median £98.99 and the highest £179.00. The cheapest ongoing price was £94.05 at Ashcroft Pharmacy (GPhC 9012896) with code BACK5, with a median of £120.00.

At 9 mg a first order ran from £83.00 to £219.00 with a median of £115.50. The cheapest ongoing price was £102.99 at Cuva Health (GPhC 9012581) with code WEGOPILL15, and the median was £139.99.

At 25 mg, the maintenance dose, the cheapest first order was £128.00 at Molecule (GPhC 9011284), the median £165.00 and the highest £259.00. Ongoing, the cheapest was £102.99 at Cuva Health (GPhC 9012581) with code WEGOPILL15, and the median was £189.48. The gap between those two ongoing figures is £86.49 a month. Over 12 months it comes to £1,037.82.

First month against later months

At 1.5 mg the cheapest first order was £53.00 against a cheapest ongoing price of £84.55. At 25 mg the two figures were £128.00 and £102.99. The two columns often come from different pharmacies, so at some doses the cheapest ongoing price can sit below the cheapest first order.

The lesson is to compare the ongoing price at the dose you expect to settle on, not the headline starter offer. The first order and ongoing guide runs the numbers for every medicine.

What the price includes

Every price here covers a four-week supply of tablets, the prescriber assessment and standard delivery. There are no needles or sharps bins with a tablet, which removes two of the add-ons that apply to the injections. Ask about express delivery charges, repeat consultation fees when you change dose, and whether any blood test is required. The guide to what the price includes covers each item.

Check the pharmacy on the GPhC register

Find the pharmacy's GPhC registration number on its website, then search the GPhC registers by name or number. The GPhC says plainly that if a pharmacy is not listed you should not use it. Its online pharmacy checklist lists the MHRA warning signs, including no prescription required and no street address. Every pharmacy in the price table has its GPhC number next to its name. A pharmacy in Northern Ireland is registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland instead.

Licence and access rules

Wegovy tablets are a prescription only medicine. The SmPC on emc licenses them for weight management in adults with an initial BMI of 30 or more, or 27 to under 30 with at least one weight-related comorbidity. The MHRA press release of 11 June 2026 repeats the same criteria and states that a prescriber has to assess you first.

The SmPC dosing schedule starts at 1.5 mg once daily, then 4 mg, 9 mg and 25 mg with at least one month at each level. The SmPC allows the dose to be held at a lower level if needed. The MHRA release notes that a patient already on a 2.4 mg weekly injection privately can move straight to the 25 mg tablet. Whether any of this applies to you is a decision for your prescriber. If you miss a dose, the SmPC says to skip it and take the next tablet the following day. Ask your prescriber or pharmacist about anything to do with dosing.

Not available on the NHS

The Wegovy pill is not available on the NHS. The MHRA stated at licensing on 11 June 2026 that it is not available currently via the NHS and that any decision will follow established processes including a NICE evaluation. As of 22 October 2026 NICE has not published a recommendation for oral semaglutide in weight management. A private prescription from a registered pharmacy is the only legal way to obtain it. If an NHS position changes, this page will be updated with the source.

Private health insurance is unlikely to cover the Wegovy pill.

Subscription plans

The Dose Club does not advise 3, 6 or 12 month tie-in plans for the Wegovy pill, because the prices are higher and most of the benefit sits with the pharmacy. The guide to subscription against pay monthly covers your cancellation rights.

Where the figures come from

Prices are from the GLP Index export of 21 October 2026, which lists 56 UK registered pharmacies for the Wegovy pill. Licence criteria and the dosing schedule are from the Wegovy tablets SmPC on emc. The licensing date and NHS position are from the MHRA press release of 11 June 2026 on GOV.UK.

Questions people ask

How much does the Wegovy pill cost in the UK?

A month of Wegovy tablets cost from £84.55 at 1.5 mg to £102.99 at 25 mg on the cheapest ongoing price recorded by GLP Index on 21 October 2026. Median ongoing prices ran from £109.99 at 1.5 mg to £189.48 at 25 mg. At 1.5 mg the cheapest discount price for a first order was £53.00 at New Health (GPhC 9011199) with code OGOVY12.

Is the Wegovy pill available on the NHS?

No. The MHRA press release announcing the licence on 11 June 2026 stated the tablet is not available currently via the NHS, and that any NHS decision would follow an evaluation by NICE. As of 22 October 2026 there is no NICE recommendation. The only way to get it is a private prescription.

Is the Wegovy pill cheaper than the injection?

Compare the two at maintenance dose. On 21 October 2026 the cheapest ongoing 25 mg tablet price was £102.99 against £139.00 for the cheapest ongoing 2.4 mg injection. At the median the tablet was £189.48 and the injection £202.95. Which form suits you is a decision for your prescriber.

Why can the ongoing 25 mg price be lower than the first order?

On 21 October 2026 the cheapest 25 mg discount price for a first order was £128.00 at Molecule (GPhC 9011284), and the cheapest ongoing price was £102.99 at Cuva Health (GPhC 9012581) with code WEGOPILL15. Different pharmacies set each figure. The two columns do not always come from the same pharmacy, so the lowest returning-customer price can sit below the lowest new-customer price.

How many tablets are in a month of Wegovy pills?

Wegovy tablets are taken once a day, so a four-week supply is 28 tablets. The SmPC sets a starting dose of 1.5 mg, moving to 4 mg, 9 mg and then 25 mg with at least one month at each level. The pharmacy prices on this page are per month at each strength.
